Blue Books

Introduction

Series S are the Blue Books of the Falkland Islands which were produced annually and contain statistical records of the Falkland Islands including the names, salaries and dates of appointment of government personnel plus other records such as revenue and expenditure, public works, legislation, trade, shipping, land use, schools and local organizations.They were called Blue Books because the forms to be filled in were printed on blue paper.They were issued for the Falkland Islands for the years 1846 to 1944.

The collection is complete at the Jane Cameron National Archives, however a few of the files are only available by physical appointment only. There is also a complete set in the National Archives in London, England.
